Carlitos Tequileria has officially opened its new flagship restaurant in North Arlington.

Located at 185 River Road, the full-service restaurant is the second Carlitos Tequileria location following its debut at Palisades Center in West Nyack, and brings the concept to Bergen County.

The restaurant features elevated Mesoamerican cuisine rooted in Mexican traditions with influences from across Latin America, led by founder and executive chef Carlos Castillo.

The menu includes tacos and quesatacos made with hand-pressed nixtamal tortillas, along with dishes such as oak-smoked brisket, birria, crispy fish, carne asada, churrasco, pulled pork and shrimp al carbon.

An agave-focused bar program features a selection of artisanal tequilas and mezcals, including classic and flavored margaritas, alongside wine and beer.

The 180-person restaurant was designed as a modern hacienda, with private dining rooms, a large bar and lounge, Mexican-inspired artwork and a rear patio overlooking the Passaic River with room for approximately three dozen guests.

Carlitos Tequileria is open Wednesday through Sunday, with later hours on Friday and Saturday.
