Japanese “Kitchen Lab” Gomen Coming Soon to Ridgewood
A new Japanese restaurant is preparing to open in downtown Ridgewood.
Gomen, described as a “Japanese Kitchen Lab,” is coming soon to 39 Godwin Avenue, with the restaurant announcing that a soft opening is just around the corner.
The concept centers around Japanese comfort food, with a menu featuring kaisen, tempura, katsu and noodles, including ramen and udon.
According to the restaurant, its head chef brings more than 15 years of experience with traditional tendon and ramen, with Gomen taking a detail-focused approach to its dishes and preparation.
The restaurant’s name combines “gohan,” meaning rice, and “men,” meaning noodle—two staples of Japanese cuisine—while “gomen” also translates to “I’m sorry” in Japanese.
Gomen has not yet announced an exact opening date, but says additional details about its upcoming soft opening will be shared soon.
