A new Mexican restaurant and tequila bar is coming soon to Bergen County.

Rojo Tequileria and Mexican Grill is preparing to open at 790 Anderson Avenue in Cliffside Park, taking over the space recently vacated by Viva Margarita.

The restaurant is being built around Mexican and Latin-inspired cuisine, with a focus on elevated plates alongside a full beverage program featuring tequila and cocktails.

Rojo is also planning a new bar as part of the transformation of the former restaurant space, with work currently underway inside.

In addition to dinner and drinks, the restaurant plans to accommodate private events.

An opening date has not yet been announced.
