NJ.com has released its updated list of The 43 Best Empanadas in New Jersey for 2026 (Read Full List).

It highlights restaurants, bakeries and food trucks from across the state known for their take on the popular handheld pastry.

The publication notes that the list is an update to its previous rankings and that entries are organized alphabetically by town rather than by numerical ranking.

This year’s roundup includes these Bergen County restaurants:

Empanada Mania — Bergenfield
NJ.com describes Empanada Mania as Bergen County’s first empanada-focused restaurant, noting that owner Galo Grijalva is originally from Ecuador and that the shop’s flour-dough empanadas come in flavors including bacon cheeseburger, Thai chili chicken, Angus beef, buffalo chicken and spinach feta.

Noches de Colombia — Fairview
The Fairview location of Noches de Colombia also made the list, with NJ.com highlighting its hearty Colombian-style empanadas served with fresh lemon and the restaurant’s signature hot sauce.
