Local Restaurant Team is Replacing the Hill in Closter
A new restaurant is coming to the former home of The Hill in Closter.
The team behind the project already operates two Bergen County restaurants: Verana in Norwood and Mykos Estiatorio in Northvale-led by Chef/Owner Giuseppe Agostino, formerly of Del Posto in NYC.
In an email sent to guests, ownership announced that it has officially taken over the restaurant space at 252 Schraalenburgh Road, saying it is “honored to bring new life to a place that meant something to so many guests in the community.”
While the new owners have not yet revealed the name or concept of the restaurant, they said they are currently working on what’s next for the property and plan to share more details in the future.
The Hill closed earlier this year after an eight-year run under Chef Ben Pollinger, who opened the restaurant in 2018. Following the closure, Pollinger thanked guests, staff and the Closter community for their support over the years.
No timeline has been announced for the new restaurant’s opening, though the owners said, “There is much more to come in Closter, and we cannot wait to share what we are building.”
