Village Tea Shop Returning this Summer in Ridgewood
A Ridgewood tea shop is preparing to make its return.
Village Tea Shop is expected to reopen this August under new ownership, bringing back many of the same drinks local customers have enjoyed for more than a decade.
The original owners, May and Eugene, announced earlier this year that they would close the shop after 12 years in business, sharing that they had been working with longtime supporter and local business owner Theresa Cheung (CiCi’s Bakery in Ridgewood) to continue the concept.
According to the announcement, the goal was to preserve the shop’s legacy while thoughtfully building on it for the future.
Cheung has officially introduced the new Village Tea Shop and confirmed the business will reopen in the same Ridgewood location.
Guests can expect the same recipes and signature drinks they know and love, along with a handful of seasonal additions throughout the year.
The woman-owned shop will continue serving freshly brewed teas, handcrafted drinks, bubble tea, fruit teas, lattes and smoothies.
According to new ownership reopening updates, behind-the-scenes previews and an official opening date will be shared in the coming weeks.
An exact reopening date has not yet been announced, but the shop is targeting August.
