New Sushi Concept Grand Opening in Bergen County Next Month
A new sushi concept is set to debut in Bergen County.
Handroll House is preparing to open in East Rutherford, with a grand opening scheduled for April 3rd at 11:00 AM, bringing a modern, handroll-focused dining experience to the area.
The restaurant is the latest concept from local restaurateur Sherif Salib, owner of Butterfish Sushi in nearby Rutherford, who brings more than a decade of industry experience to the project.
To develop the concept, Salib partnered with Chef Jeffry Undiarto, whose background includes time at the acclaimed two-Michelin-star restaurant n/naka in Los Angeles.
Together, the team has created a concept centered around freshness, precision, and approachability—offering a more elevated yet accessible take on sushi dining.
The format focuses on handrolls prepared with high-quality ingredients and served fresh, with an emphasis on timing, consistency, and craftsmanship.
According to Salib, “the goal is to bring something special to East Rutherford,” adding that the restaurant was designed to reflect a passion for quality food while remaining connected to the local community.
In addition to its culinary program, the space has been designed with a clean, contemporary aesthetic, incorporating warm elements to create an inviting, neighborhood-focused atmosphere.
With a focus on both dedicated sushi enthusiasts and casual diners, Handroll House aims to deliver a polished yet approachable experience.
The opening positions the concept as a notable addition to East Rutherford’s growing dining scene.
