A new bar concept called Choir Practice Bar is preparing to open at 26 W. Madison Avenue in Dumont.

The owners describe the concept as “a place where the suits and sleeveless shirts share a round of drinks and strike a deal on a cocktail napkin”.

With the space divided into three distinct rooms offering different atmospheres.

According to the team, the main barroom will retain the character of the building’s original tin ceiling, while a second space—referred to as the “music room”—will function as a cocktail lounge designed with live musicians in mind.

Live music is expected to be a core part of the experience, with plans to host both established performers and emerging talent discovered through social media platforms.

Food offerings will include a focus on pizza, made using a recipe from a longtime Southern Bergen County figure who has been making pizza since the 1960s—in addition to a small supporting menu.

No word yet on any concrete opening date plans.
