A new takeout-focused concept called The Fried Rice is launching a soft opening this Wednesday at 128 Park Avenue in East Rutherford.

The restaurant is centered on Chinese-Latin flavors, with a halal menu built around traditional fried rice as its core offering.

During the soft opening period, which will run through February, the menu will focus on fried rice with a choice of protein mixed in, along with chicken wings, egg drop soup, and iced tea.

The owners note that their fried rice uses MSG—described as “the queen of seasoning”—and emphasize that it is traditional fried rice rather than the yellow-style rice commonly found at takeout spots.

For now, orders will be pickup only, while the team continues preparations for a full menu expansion and grand opening later this winter.
