Llama Sam has officially opened at 6 Bergen Street in Hackensack.

The restaurant combines “the authenticity of traditional Peruvian flavors with contemporary design and innovative cooking techniques.”

Its team describes the concept as modern Peruvian cuisine, aiming to create “gastronomic experiences” that blend native ingredients with influences such as Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei cooking.

Ownership includes three partners, among them a Peruvian chef with more than ten years of experience, including work at Belmond Hotel Monasterio and culinary travel that informs the restaurant’s approach.

The 900-square-foot space offers seating for about 25 guests.

Llama Sam is currently open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
