Bergen Author Publishes Book on the History of Whiskey
Just in time for fall reading (and sipping) season, award-winning spirits expert and Westwood, NJ resident Robin Robinson is set to release his latest book, The History of Whiskey in 100 Bottles, Barrels, and More (Publisher Site; Amazon; Barnes & Noble; Apple Books), published by Countryman Press.
The book offers an illustrated account of whiskey’s evolution, told through 100 key artifacts and events.
From ancient distilling methods to the rise of multinational beverage empires, it weaves together a global narrative that captures the ingenuity, politics and culture behind the world’s most storied spirit.
A recognized authority in the world of spirits, Robinson also offered up some of his favorite North Jersey spots for whiskey lovers.
Places on his radar include Hearth and Tap in Montvale (good Irish whiskey selection) (Website), Archer in Jersey City (Website), The Park Steakhouse in Park Ridge (Website), Brick House in Wyckoff (Website), Sofia in Englewood (Website) and American Whiskey in Newark (Website) — each offering a range of whiskey options suitable for both seasoned drinkers and curious newcomers.
Featuring detailed photographs of bottles, archival materials, and historical ephemera that give readers both visual appeal and historical context, the book will be available in stores and online retailers beginning October 21st.
