Mr. Falafel and Gelato, a modern Mediterranean eatery with a dessert-focused twist, has opened its first New Jersey location at 654 Anderson Avenue in Cliffside Park.

The fast-casual concept, which began in Stamford, CT, offers a customizable menu centered around fresh, healthy Middle Eastern staples like falafel, shawarma, kebabs, rice and salad bowls, sandwiches, house-made dips, and sauces.

The restaurant is operated by two friends, one of whom previously ran a successful restaurant in Boston before relocating to New Jersey. Together, they’ve assembled a culinary team with extensive experience in Mediterranean cuisine

According to the owners, “Mr. Falafel is a modern Mediterranean restaurant focused on fresh, authentic, and customizable” dishes with an emphasis on quality ingredients.

In addition to savory fare, the location features a full gelato selection, including seasonal flavors and their signature house-made Dubai Chocolate, as well as a variety of light desserts.

This Cliffside Park spot joins the brand’s growing list of locations in Stamford, Riverside (CT), and now Bergen County.

The 1600 sq foot space is currently open seven days a week.
