A new restaurant concept is set to take over the former The Hudson Rose space in Nutley, which closed its doors this past weekend.

The upcoming venture, officially named Bacarosa, will offer a “modern Italian restaurant”.

The project is being developed by Chef Andrew Riccatelli and General Manager Eric Binder, both previously with The Hudson Rose. The pair have been working behind the scenes to reimagine the space and overall concept.

According to early details, Bacarosa will aim for “blending traditional spirit with contemporary flair”.

While the full menu has yet to be released, diners can expect wood-fired pizzas from a Fiero Forni oven, handmade seasonal pastas, and a range of “bold, shareable” dishes drawing from both Italian and American influences.

The space will feature a “laid-back and elegant” atmosphere, aligning with the restaurant’s modern approach.

The Harlow Room, the former venue’s dedicated space for private events, continues to operate as usual.

While an official opening date for Bacarosa has not yet been announced, more details are expected in the coming weeks.
