Sofrito Latino has officially opened its doors at 10 Hilliard Avenue in Edgewater.

The restaurant brings a blend of Caribbean and South American flavors to Bergen County.

It aims to offer a warm, community-focused dining experience that combines authentic Latin cuisine with a family-centered atmosphere.

Behind the concept is chef and owner Jorge Gonzalez. He brings more than 22 years of culinary experience—including time preparing gourmet meals for film and television productions.

Alongside his wife and two daughters, Gonzalez created Sofrito Latino as a personal passion project.

The menu spans a variety of Latin classics including arroz con coco, empanadas, pernil, and seafood paella.

It offers a lineup of non-alcoholic drinks such as tropical smoothies and house-made juices.

Sofrito Latino offers indoor seating for around 30 guests and is currently open seven days a week.
