Madi’s Matcha Brings Ceremony, Craft & Community to North Jersey

Madi’s Matcha has officially arrived in Midland Park, setting up its latest outpost at 11 Paterson Avenue, where it operates weekends from the café space inside Preservation Society.

Founded earlier this year, Madi’s Matcha was created to honor the traditional Japanese matcha ceremony while offering handcrafted drinks made with thoughtfully sourced ingredients.

Owner Madi has spent time studying the craft and cultivating partnerships with like-minded makers and vendors—all with the goal of creating a warm, inclusive community centered around matcha.

The brand initially launched with pop-ups across North Jersey and earned a local following through appearances in Ridgewood and at the Ramsey Farmers Market.

Now, the Midland Park outpost marks a more permanent evolution for the concept—moving from temporary setups to a consistent location where guests can gather, relax, and sip in an indoor-outdoor setting.

Madi’s menu rotates weekly and features matcha-based drinkd. All are made to order, with housemade syrups, raw nut mylks from Live Vessel, and Mooala oat milk.

The signature Uji blend (first flush, stone-ground in Japan) is also available for pre-order online and will be sold on-site starting in July.

While all of their matcha blends are made from first-harvest, ceremonial-grade leaves, Madi made it a point to note that “ceremonial” is a term primarily used in the West.

She believes matcha quality is best defined by harvest timing, cultivars, and production methods—more than labels—with true excellence shown through vibrant color, fine texture, subtle aroma, and balanced flavor.

The outpost is currently open Saturdays from 12PM to 3PM. For future hours, ongoing popups, and seasonal menu drops, follow along on Instagram (Visit Account).
