Bergen Dumplings Are Among the Best in New Jersey

NJ.com has shared their picks for New Jersey’s 21 best dumpling dishes, ranked for 2025 (Read Story).

Dumplings can come in various shapes and forms such as wontons, baos, soup dumplings, shumai and several other varieties.

As New Jersey is home to a plethora of Asian populations and cuisines, there is no shortage of dumplings throughout the state according to the article.

Bergen County made the list with seven overall — including an impressive four in the top 10.

The Pan-fried Pork Buns at Old Shanghai Soup Dumplings in Palisades Park (Website) came in at #3 — their “squishy buns” have a “juicy interior with tender meat”.

The Pork Soup Dumplings at Soup Dumpling Plus in Fort Lee were #5 and “perfect for a cold or rainy day”.

At #6 came the Pork Dumplings at Dumpling Dojo in Rutherford (Website) — the business features “Asian cuisine mixed with Western influences”.

The Beef and Chive Mandi at Woori Mart in Northvale (Website) were ranked #8. Served at a small stand located next to the bakery, they “boasted big flavor”.

The remaining Bergen eats that made the cut were the Kimchi Beef Dumplings (#11) at Best Dumplings in Englewood (Website), Shrimp Dumplings (#13) at Dim Sum Station in Hackensack (Website), and the Soup Dumpling Sanpler (#19) at Dumpling Den in Fort Lee (Website).
