JK Ryan’s Has Officially Launched in Tappan

J.K. Ryan’s has launched in Tappan, in the space that was formerly Morgan’s Publick House.

Neil and Amy Walsh has been operating Morgan’s since purchasing it last year, making the name change official today.

Walsh was born into the bar business, as his father Benny owned Inishfree in the Bronx throughout the ’80s and ‘90s, shaping Neil’s “deep appreciation for the warmth, camaraderie, and tradition” of a great neighborhood pub.

For years, he dreamed of owning a pub himself, and when Morgan’s became available, he and Amy felt it was the “perfect opportunity” for that vision.

The new name J.K. Ryan’s is a tribute to family — “JK” honors Amy’s father while “Ryan’s” comes from Neil’s mother’s side, where his uncle and godfather, Liam, has been a respected publican in Dublin for many years.

Morgan’s has been a community spot for years, with Neil and Amy looking to honor it’s history while making it their own.

Inspired by their Irish roots — Amy from Killarney and Neil from Aclare and Tipperary — they’ve refreshed the interior and outdoor garden, blending personal and cultural touches to aimed at creating an inviting space.

As they continue to grow, Neil and Amy are “committed to blending old and new” — keeping the classic dishes and traditions that locals have come to love while “introducing exciting menu additions, live music, family-friendly events”.

It’s currently open seven days a week.
