Local chef Chris Holland is officially in expansion mode.

The three time Chopped winner has announced plans to open Kantina Kita in Nyack, a sister concept to his existing restaurant Kantina in Sparkill.

Named Kantina Kita, it will offer something distinctively different than his first establishment.

It will feature two different concepts within the space ― a traditional restaurant with table service and a fast food takeout concept.

The sit down operation will serve cocktails and what Holland describes as “creative sushi” ― he wants to add his own twist to he popular Japanese food, similar to what he did with tacos at Kantina.

The fast food concept will focus on takeout ― offering bento boxes of dishes culled from various Asian cuisines.

It will also offer a selection of canned and bottled alcohol to go.

Holland is looking to open the business sometime this winter.
