Maxine’s Bake Shop, a French American bakery, will soon be opening its doors at the Five Corners Shoppes in Westwood.

The Bake Shop is the passion project of husband/wife team Clement and Abby Fourmont, two “highly accomplished pastry chefs” with over 15 years of experience in the pastry world.

Clément, originally from France, began his culinary journey at the age of fourteen.  After completing his studies, Clément went on to work at the prestigious Ladurée in Paris. He then worked for Ladurée in various locations around the globe, ultimately rising to the position of Head Pastry Chef in multiple kitchens.

It was during his tenure at Ladurée in New York City that Clément met Abby, who honed her craft in New York where she also trained and worked at Ladurée.

Since childhood, Clément and Abby have both dreamt of opening their own bake shop, and their dreams will finally become a reality at The Five Corners Shoppes in Westwood.

The pastries at Maxine’s will be a combination of the Fourmont’s experience from renowned Pastry Kitchens and “their love of French and American baking”.

Named after their daughter, Maxine’s Bake Shop will offer an exquisite selection of pastries, including the “iconic” Parisian viennoiseries, macarons, and their curated specialty coffee.

The bakery will also feature their signature cakes, quiches, cookies and more.

No word just yet on an opening date.
