American eat “about four gallons of ice cream a year” and with the weather as hot as it’s been, this probably seemed like the right time to update the list.

As with most of these lists, the specific criteria and process use to determine the ranking was not included.

There were six Bergen County shops mentioned this year.

Francy’s Ice Cream in Bergenfield (Instagram) ranked highest, cracking the top ten at #9.

This “strip mall ice cream shop” serves up 26 flavors with many that are “tropical-themed”.

Cranberry Junction in Hackensack (#37), Daniela’s Ice Cream in Closter (#44), Conrad’s Confectionary in Westwood (#51), Van Dyk’s in Ridgewood (#56) and Ice Cream Charlie’s in Rutherford (#69) were the remaining to make the list.
