Stephen Copeland is the new executive chef at the MC in Montclair.

As executive chef, he brings his experience and approach to the hotel’s signature Allegory restaurant, as well as its Alto bar.

Chef Copeland has cooked in some of the world’s most prestigious restaurants, such as the Roof at the Hotel Gramercy Park in New York, Maialino in San Francisco, and the Langham on 5th Avenue in New York City.

Under Copeland’s stewardship, Allegory will serve Mediterranean-inspired, coastal cuisine in a multi-course shared-plate format, along with a variety of craft cocktails and draft beer, as well as a wine menu.

In addition to Allegory, Chef Copeland is also introducing a new food menu for Alto, the hotel’s rooftop bar with views of Manhattan – the only such rooftop bar in Montclair.

The MC Hotel is located near several art galleries and museums, as well as shops and restaurants, and offers year-round programs and events.
