Marcus Samuelsson Opening North Jersey Restaurant in December

The newest restaurant from award-winning celebrity chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson will open this year at American Dream in East Rutherford.

Marcus Live! Bar & Grille will span more than seven thousand square feet and will feature a compilation menu of Samuelsson’s “most acclaimed dishes”.

The eatery literally puts its kitchen center stage – in the middle of the space – giving guests a front-row seat to the action.

Known for Red Rooster (NYC) and restaurants worldwide (including formerly at NoHu Rooftop in Weehawken), Marcus Live! is Samuelsson’s newest concept, specifically developed and inspired by American Dream’s “innovative approach to experiential environments and creative, engaging design”.

“American Dream is filled with so many engaging and impressive experiential offerings that we decided this would be the perfect place to take our open kitchen concept to the next level – positioning the incredible craftsmanship of our team in the center of the show,” says Samuelsson. “I take great pride in building diversity among the leadership of our teams and spotlighting the culinary talent who might otherwise stay behind the scenes. This makes not only the open kitchen, where all the action is happening for diners to see, but also the incredibly skilled people who keep it running the focal point of what we’re trying to do here.”

Led by Samuelsson and with a menu “emblematic of his personal cooking style”, Marcus Live!’s menu features dished like Miso Halibut, Old Bay Crab Cakes, and Jerk Pork Belly Wraps.

There are also large-format, shareable options like The Garden State Jubilee, featuring grilled shrimp, bbq brisket, grilled ribeye, and lobster tail.

In addition to the dining options, the bar will feature an “impressive wine list, local craft beers, and creative cocktails”.

It’s expected to open in early December – once open it will be located at Court A, Level 3.
