The East Rutherford address previously assigned to Taos is now home to The Roosevelt, a new restaurant, lounge and speakeasy.

Doug and Dan Palsi, the brothers behind Redd’s Restaurant & Biergarten, Keith Rado and John Landy of Fiesta Catering, along with Frank Pinto have joined forces as co-owners for this project.

Aiming to evoke a swanky vibe with its art deco décor and “a unique experience around every corner,” the space includes formal restaurant service in the Dining Room, a private chef’s tasting experience in the Hideout, and two areas for drinks, the spacious Saloon and more intimate Lucy’s Parlor speakeasy.

According to the website, the current dining menu features a wide array of shared plates, salads and dishes like spicy tuna tartare, grilled romaine wedge, artisanal pizzas, and the signature Roosevelt burger, with some options available for late night and happy hour.

There is also a signature cocktail menu with “redemption” Sunday brunch expected to be added this spring – plus all rooms are available for private events.

The Roosevelt is open six days a week (closed on Tuesdays).
