Hangry Joe’s Chicken, a chain of hot chicken restaurants, is expected to open in downtown Closter.

The brand was founded last year and has been on an expansion tear ever since. There’s now 20+ stores that have been popping up across Virginia, Maryland and Texas with expansion plans for Alabama and more.

This is the second New Jersey location, with another having opened earlier this year in Florham Park.

The focus is Nashville Hot Chicken, which includes six spice levels (the highest level “Angry Hot” requires signing a waiver).

Their menu (View Menu) includes sandwiches, fingers, bites, chicken & waffles, fries and more.

There’s been no word yet on a proposed opening date.
