The Original Plantwich, a 100% plant-based cafe, has opened in Glen Rock.

The brainchild of good friends Brittany and Anthony — after throwing around the idea — they came together with their skillsets to bring it to life. Both have been partners in other restaurants and were looking to get back into the industry.

It’s been described as “a tasty and unique take on breakfast”, with the plantwiches each being “all about the specially created sauce accompanying” it — Honey Mustard, Bleu Cheese, Dill Pickle and Everything Bagel.

There are number of plantwiches on the menu, including a create your own variety. They will often have a rotating plantwich as a special.

Additionally, they have a grab and go fridge with weekly and daily specials — from anything like energy and protein balls, to containers of chickpea ‘tuna’, fresh-made guacamole and possibly to-go lunch plantwiches.

It’s currently open five days a week (closed Mondays and Tuesdays).
