Jugemu, a new Japanese restaurant, has opened in Cresskill.

Chef Yoshii and his staff are guided by their “respect for authentic Japanese cuisine” and meticulous service to offer a place that guests can “enjoy with their family”. According to ownership, everything from “hard to find” sake and the “Japanese modern interior” have been designed to invite diners a relaxing dining experience.

The business has replaced Umeya, which closed after 25 years earlier this year.

Menu items include (but not limited to) omakase at the sushi bar and “authentic” Japanese dishes and sides.

It’s dinner only with approximately forty five seats ― including 6 seats in their private room.

They’ll be open six days a week (closed Mondays) from 4:30pm till 9:30pm.
