Brazilian Steakhouse Opening First Jersey Location This Year

In a follow up to our first report back in November, Fogo de Chão will open its first New Jersey location in Paramus at the Westfield Garden State Plaza.

The new restaurant will occupy two levels in the former Bar Louie space and will feature an open-air churrasco bar in the heart of the dining room, where guests can view chefs butcher, prepare and grill different cuts of meat over an open flame.

Designed in partnership with global architecture and design agency Harrison, the space will feature dry-aged meat lockers for in-house aging, a mezzanine-level lounge – with leather couches and settee seating – and “expansive main and private dining areas” with fixtures and murals that are “inspired by the craftsmanship prominent in Southern Brazilian culture”.

Fogo provides culinary options (View Menu) include “simply seasoned, fire-roasted meats” as part of a “Churrasco dining experience” including filet mignon, bone-in cowboy ribeye, beef ribs, lamb chops, Picanha (prime cut of the top sirloin), and Fraldinha (bottom sirloin).

The new location will also offer takeout and catering options.

According to their press release, expect the restaurant to open sometime in 2022.
