German Supermarket Chain Opening First Rockland Location
Supermarket chain Lidl is coming to Tappan as first reported by the Rockland County Business Journal as early as February 2020.
It’s part of a $4.5 million dollar deal between the landlord and Lidl at the Tappan Plaza strip mall — also home to Mercato Roman Pizza (Website), Subway and Wendy’s.
The chain has plans to demolish part of the existing building and add a freestanding 25,000 square spot just for the supermarket.
Lidl (Website) has been growing in the US, and even New Jersey — it operates over 10,000 stores around the world — with locations already here in Bergen including Bergenfield, Elmwood Park and Park Ridge.
