Aurora, a new Mediterranean restaurant and bar, has opened in Old Tappan.

Described as “elegant and casual” by ownership – the same as local spots Dimora (Norwood) and Sear House (Closter) – the former Charlie Brown’s space has been renovated with a new bar and expanded outdoor patio dining.

The menu is Greek/Mediterranean (View Menus) or “modern Mediterranean” that’s “light health food”. They are trying to stay local with ingredients, lots of seafood and also offer brick oven pizza.

Their chef formerly worked at Elia (East Rutherford) and other spots in New York City.

Currently the restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
