Outdoor Beer Garden Popup Serving Roman Pizza in Bergen County

Green Goddess Pizza, an outdoor pizza and beer garden popup located outside in The Park at Fire & Oak in Montvale, is the latest project from Joshua Lee Dorras — Fire & Oak’s owner and operator.

Joshua began his career when he opened the first South City Grill in Rochelle Park, which grew to become the South City Group encompassing multiple locations in Northern New Jersey. Through his community involvement at Green Meadow in Chestnut Ridge, he met acclaimed farm to table chef Anthony LoPinto. Chef LoPinto was brought on board to spearhead the menu and culinary program at Green Goddess Pizza Co, utilizing his “lifetime” of experience in Napoli, New York, Sicilian & Roman pizza doughs.

In addition to his work in the restaurant kitchen, he is an educator teaching sustainable farming, natural cooking and has produced instructional videos for Il Fornino Pizza Ovens. He’s also an avid salumist who appreciates and celebrates all parts of the animal by creating homemade sausages, meatballs and charcuterie.

Serving a selection (View Menu) of Roman pizza and bar offering boutique wines, craft beers and cocktail — it was designed to bring a casual European feel to Bergen County, by way of al fresco dining featuring seasonal, local, farm fresh ingredients. An outdoor kitchen produces all pizzas to order, which includes two custom Il Fornino pizza ovens.

The pizza process takes four days, which begins by mixing the dough and a 48 hour ferment in a temperature-controlled environment. It’s proofed a second time then parbaked — it’s topped with homemade San Marzano tomato sauce and a number of possible cheeses like Jersey Girl mozzarella, whole milk ricotta, 36 month aged imported  Parmigiano and more.

Currently open Thursday thru Saturday for dinner, it offers picnic table dining with seating for up to 175 people.
