RainBao Food Truck Has Launched in Teaneck

RainBao is a new food truck specializing in bao buns in Bergen County.

Owner Danielle Brooks has experience in catering, restaurants, and commercial kitchen management — following culinary school she worked at White Gold Butchers (NYC) and before the pandemic she spent time working pastry at MeMe’s Diner (Brooklyn). She decided on a food truck so she could travel, which would allow for more people to experience her food.

The food combines Asian buns with southern cuisine, digging in Brooks’s southern roots and personal favorites to develop a “diverse and interesting menu”. Popular items include brisket with Carolina BBQ Sauce and a crispy mushroom with honey mustard and pickles. As an homage to New Jersey, the breakfast bao is Taylor ham, egg, and cheese.

A new menu will be developed seasonally and recipe testing has already begun. The food truck can regularly be found in Teaneck, serving lunch and dinner — it can also be booked for private events.

Currently it’s open Thursday thru Tuesday from noon till 8:00pm at Votee Park in Teaneck — schedule updates can be found on their website and social media.
