Bergen County Represents on Best Hot Dog List

It is National Hot Dog Day, so they team at NJ.com put together their list of N.J.’s 40 best hot dog joints, ranked, (View Full List).

Using many different trips and visits over the years of “the hot dog capital of the world” (New Jersey), the list was compiled as “not just about the quality” of the places “but history, tradition, atmosphere and overall dining experience”.

Bergen County had three places make the list, with nearby Clifton having three themselves. The top Bergen spot was Hiram’s Roadstand in Fort Lee at #4. The chili dog is highlighted as one of the best in the state.

Next was Karl Ehmer Meats in Hillsdale (Website) was #14 with it’s “charm” and being a “great lunch spot”.

Finally was Johnny & Hanges in Fair Lawn (Website) at #18. It’s recommended that visitors get a Texas weiner “all the way” with mustard, raw onions and chili.
