Peppercorn Events, the Bergen County based catering company that focuses on local, seasonal custom menus, is opening The Grocery by Peppercorn Events later this year.

The new location is in River Vale — they’ve been in Cliffside Park the last few years — will feature their line of grab and go food items, pastries, coffee and tea, and ready to heat meals. Other local products such as artisanal chocolates, honey and beverages made in NJ will also be available.

The space will feature tables made by C-los Carpentry and ceramics by Connor McGinn. As always with Peppercorn Events, the produce used in the grab and go and ready to heat meals will be sourced from Bergen County farms including Stokes and Closter Farms.

As a full service catering and events company, Peppercorn Events offers services beyond food and staff. They also offer beverage coordination, rentals, decor, event planning and day of coordination as well as vendor recommendations.

While the menus at Peppercorn Events change seasonally, some favorites stay on the menu all year, including their shallot braised short ribs, served with pickled mustard seeds, or with marinated tomatoes (during tomato season). Other favorites include their savory everything bagel macarons and their flourless chocolate cake.

Ownership hopes to open in May 2021.
