Opening Alert: Underdog Hot Chicken, Fort Lee, NJ

Underdog Hot Chicken, a hot chicken concept, has opened in Fort Lee.

With the first location in Boston, the restaurant is from Henry Kim — who’s the CEO of the Capt Loui franchise that also has a location in Fort Lee — who has 20+ years in the restaurant industry. Just like Capt Loui started as brand featuring southern influence, they decided to offer their take on the popular southern Nashville Hot Chicken.

The brand “tries harder”, hence the namesake “underdog” with a menu (View Menu) of hot chicken sandwiches, tenders, wings, drumsticks and more.  The chicken is made “very crispy” through their “specific frying process” while staying “juicy” and “savory” with a “memorable taste” using their “secret marinade and seasoning”.
