Pete Genovese of NJ.com is never finished searching out food and in particular local pizza. His latest culminated in an article aptly titled “N.J.’s best new pizzerias: 21 terrifically tasty spots around the state” (Read Full Story).

Two places made it this year in Bergen County, the first being Osteria Italiana Ristorante Pizzeria in Garfield (Website). Genovese recommends the Quattro Formaggi, which includes mozzarella, ricotta, provolone and grated pecorino.

The other is Tavolino in Wallington (Facebook Page). In his writeup, Genovese mentioned the Smokey Roni, with thick-cut pepperoni, fresh mozzarella and spicy plum tomato sauce.

These findings have become an annual list, with previous alums including Napoli Wood-Fired Pizza & Bakery in Cliffside Park (Website) and Urban Tomato in Palisades Park (Facebook Page).
