Local Jersey Spots Named Top Driving Destinations From NYC

NYC dominates much of the local food news and scene, but sometimes city media gives Jersey a little love. Most recently, Grub Street shared an article titled 21 Road Food Destinations for New Yorkers (Read Article).

Catering to those living in the five borough who have a car and are looking to get out during the pandemic before the summer is over, they surveyed a “handful of food lovers” for recommendations. Places with tasty food and “ample outdoor seating”. Broken down by distance, two Bergen-area food businesses made the list among the 21 selected.

Mitsuwa (Website), the Japanese grocery and more in Edgewater, was highlighted for items like fresh fish, rice, nori, Japanese pickle section, snacks, food court and more.

Viaggio (Website), the highly lauded restaurant from Robbie Felice in Wayne, was lovingly shared as a “tiny Italian restaurant in a strip mall”. Highlights are “insanely amazing fresh pastas”, “fantastic salads”, “house-cured meats”, and “fresh-baked breads”.
