NJ.com writer Peter Genovese has revealed his latest best of rankings, this time with his list of N.J.’s 25 best hot dog joints ranked, for National Hot Dog Day (Read Full Article).

The ranking is based on his “not-inconsiderable hot dog experience” — his expertise includes visiting 92 hot dog restaurants as part of Inside Jersey article a few years back. Bergen County made his list twice, with one cracking into the top 5.

Coming in at number 4 was Hiram’s in Fort Lee (Instagram), Genovese called their chili-topped dog one of his “two or three favorite in the state”.

Karl Ehmer Meats in Hillsdale (Website) was ranked at number 12, which is celebrating it’s 88th year in business.

Rutt’s Hut in Clifton (Website), a perennial favorite in national and local publications alike, topped the list.
