Opening Alert: Brothers Smokehouse, Ramsey, NJ

Brother’s Smokehouse, the bbq restaurant and bar, has opened in Ramsey.

This is the second location for owners and brothers Gavin, Jamie, and Chris Farella (pitmaster), with Brothers Barbecue located in New Windsor, NY — they’ve been open now for 9 years. Russell Zimmerman has joined the team as General Manager.

With plans of “staying true” to BBQ where “meat is the star”, the menu (View Menu) is Southern barbecue with specific influences from both North Carolina (the family hails from the outerbanks of North Carolina) and Texas. Meat will be cooked in two giant smokers are running 24/7, featuring chicken, brisket, sausage, ribs, pulled pork, and chopped pork.

Additional eats include soul food-influenced sides and entrees — wings (they do them 3 ways) are prepared from never frozen chicken and are freshly cooked to order then tossed in homemade sauce, mac and cheese, burgers, fried chicken, shrimp & grits, cheesesteaks, and fries are among some of the choices.

There is also a full bar with craft beer, wine and a “beautiful” bourbon selection.

Current operations are 7 days a week  starting with lunch and dinner, brunch planned for sometime in the fall.
