Yelp shared a list of the Top 25 Most Romantic Restaurants in North Jersey on their blog yesterday (Read List), just in time for that big celebration of love: Valentine’s Day.

Dubbed an “all-time list of the top romantic restaurants in North Jersey” according to their website, reviews with keywords like “romantic”, “date”, and derivatives of “Valentine’s Day” were identified across reviews and volume. It also took into account only restaurants in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties. The list was described “as diverse as it is delicious” and includes many cuisines like “tapas, sushi, steak and Italian”.

The top spot was Cafe Matisse in Rutherford (Website), the venerable fine dining institution from chef Peter Loria. Loria recently updated his menu for the winter and is open five days a week (closed Monday-Tuesday) for dinner.

Other Bergen County eateries on the list were Cafe Archetypus (Edgewater — Website) at #14, Samurai Sushi (East Rutherford — Website) at #16, Elia Mediterranean (East Rutherford — Website) at #17, Casual Habana Cafe (New Milford — Website) at #20, and Taverna Mykonos (Elmwood Park — Website) at #21.
