Since Food Town’s demise in Old Tappan, there has been speculation of what might replace it. Rumors were fierce most of last year that it was going to become an Uncle Giuseppe’s market, the full-service supermarket chain featuring a gourmet Italian theme…

Now it’s month’s later and the rumor has gained steam, but with one major change…  now the proverbial grapevine has them setting up shop in Old Tappan — taking residence in the former Bon Fayr and Duke’s Ocean Grill location, which was Rockland County’s largest restaurant by square footage.

It’s stores commonly offer produce, butcher department, seafood department with in-house fishmongers, bakery with freshly baked treats and desserts (including some straight from Arthur Avenue), candy/gelato counter, and a fresh cheese department.

Bergen residents should be familiar with Uncle Giuseppe’s since they opened a Ramsey location (Read Article) in November of 2016.
