“Houston’s, We Have A Problem” Says New Jersey Monthly

Mall dining destination Houston’s in Hackensack (lovingly referred to as the Bergen County location on their website) — it’s been open since 1996 at The Shops at Riverside (Square) — has gotten reviewed by New Jersey Monthly (Read Review).

And it’s not all hugs and kisses for the extremely popular chain, which can see long wait times any day of the week. In fact we were worried when the area near the restaurant was closed off during the mall’s current renovation — imagining the riots if Houston’s (in particular) had to shutter for any period of time.

While we typically only share when the magazine bestows a three star or better review for a Bergen restaurant, writer KT Harrison gave it two stars — mainly on the back of their two always available desserts: the hot fudge sundae, and brownie a la mode. The only savory standout was the French Dip sandwich.
