Tropical Hut, the mini chain serving “Authentic Philippine Cuisine”, is coming to Maywood. With six locations, including Hackensack and Spring Valley, Leo Alquiros is growing his local empire.

Alquiros combines many flavoring and curing techniques, including the use of marinades, flavored brines and natural wood smoking. Foods include noodle, vegetable, rice, chicken, pork, beef, and seafood dishes. There is a whole dedicated section just to lechón, the classic Filipino roasted pig.

Now word yet on a possible opening date.
