Disco Fries Named Best Bar Snack in New Jersey

The latest in their long line of lists across the nation, Thrillist comes with their picks for The Unofficial Bar Snack of Every State (View List).

A bar snack is clearly something that is served at various types of bars (duh). Factors making this particular list come together were uniqueness to the state and prevalence – likely invented there, though it may be popular in other places.

What is New Jersey’s popular dish? Disco fries — though not exactly bar food since it’s served at diners — were the selection and it’s explained how they are similar to poutine but not — thicker fries, different gravy and mozzarella (no curds). They even suggest searching out the dish at Rocky Hill Inn in Rock Hill for a “tricked out pub-style version”. We’ll stick with the diner version, thanks.
