Nazca Cevicheria and Bar Coming to Dumont

In an exclusive shared with Boozy Burbs at publication, an eatery named Nazca Cevicheria and Bar is opening in Dumont.

This is a new restaurant from Habana Casual Cafe (Hackensack, New Milford) owner Benito Rivero, who studied at the Institute of Culinary Education and worked at places like Craftsteak and Latour before opening in Hackensack.

A menu is expected of “modern Peruvian food” with an emphasis on Nikkei and Chifa. Nikkei is a Japanese-Peruvian style that’s currently hot around the world and has finally reached the US according to recent reports (Read Full Article). Chifa (Wikipedia Entry) is a fusion of Chinese and Peruvian eats, also found in areas like Ecuador and Bolivia.

There is a liquor license – it is located at the former Alberto’s location – with a bar to feature pisco and tiki-inspired cocktails.

According to the current schedule, a summer opening is being planned.
