Opening Alert: DVine Pie, Piermont, NY

DVine Pie—a pizza offshoot of Sparkill’s DVine Bar—opened for business in Piermont, NY.

After noticing the popularity of the pizzas at DVine Bar, owner, Joe Printz, suggested to his chef, Chris Holland—who is also a two-time winner of Food Network’s Chopped—that they create a standalone pizza restaurant and received immediate support. The pizza will now only be served at DVine Pie, with the exception of DVine Bar’s Sunday brunch menu, which will still include hangover pizza.

Although the menu (View Menu) could change, there are currently eight different pizza pies, including a clam bake pizza with corn, chorizo, clams and garlic butter and the “Chanterelle on Toast,” which has chanterelle mushrooms, aged gruyere, toasted pine nuts and aged balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. There are currently three salad options, and Printz said this list will be expanding. Some dessert options include fruit pies and a “cinnabon pizza.”

“We’re always going to be looking for new ways to inspire and create,” Printz said.

Another goal for DVine Pie is to be environmentally friendly. Beer, wine and cider are all kept in kegs, paper straws are used and Printz said the restaurant is trying to find a recyclable, eco-friendly delivery and takeout container that customers can return for reuse.

DVine Pie is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5-10 p.m. on weekdays and 5-11 p.m. on weekends.
