According to their Facebook page, The Bouwerie in Old Tappan officially closed its doors January 1st. From their farewell post:

“We want to thank all of you for the incredible support and dedication you showed us for 3 years! The memories and friendships made will live on forever. We are truly grateful for the dedicated staff who made the experience for all our customers always first class. The Bouwerie was built on 3 basic foundations. Food, Atmosphere and Family. You all were FAMILY to us. Never will we forget the happiness, smiles and joy that was established by the restaurant. In life all good things come to an end but that doesn’t mean the good will be forgotten. We would like to wish you and yours a happy and healthy new year! ”

An email from owner Keith Roche revealed that he has plans to open another restaurant.
