Farm to Table Italian Restaurant is Coming to Rutherford

Fiorentini, a new restaurant offering “Italian cuisine with a global and modern flare”, is coming soon to Rutherford.

Husband and wife duo Antonio and Brenda are both hail from Florence — they are Fiorentini, the Italian word for ‘citizens of Florence’. Antonio attended the International Culinary School and has worked at a number of NYC restaurants — Le Cirque, Sea Grill at Rockefeller Center, and most recently as executive chef at the Metropolitan Opera. Brenda has had a career in the event industry, designing and producing events for over twelve years since moving to New Jersey from Italy.

The menu will concentrate on “premium seasonal quality vegetables”, “sustainable seafood”, and the freshest herbs” for an “elegant yet approachable cuisine”. Ownership hopes to deliver a “holistic hospitality experience” for their diners. Authentic food that’s offered in a “refined, well-thought-out way” because they want guests to participate in a “full culinary experience”.

They’re designing an atmosphere including lush greenery, plus wood adorning the floors and ceilings that “perfectly harmonize with the organic, seasonal ingredients” on the menu. The restaurant will also boast an open kitchen, allowing diners to see the chefs preparing and cooking their meal.

The team also aspires to make their eatery as environmentally conscious as possible. From waste to water, chemicals to disposables, to locally sourced ingredients to the materials they are using to furnish the space, sustainability is continuously at the heart of what they do.

With eighteen hundred square feet and approximately 50 seats at their disposal, plans are in place to start with dinner Wednesday thru Sunday and offer an Italian brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Due to delays with COVID, an exact opening timeframe was unable to be shared for now.
