American Gastropub Porter is Coming to Port Imperial in Weehawken

Porter, a new restaurant located in the River House11 building at 1100 Avenue at Port Imperial, is coming this fall.

Chef Chris Lim and pastry chef Tara Glick are opening this restaurant with Mack Cali. The two are in charge of the day to day operations with Chris is the exec chef and I oversee pastry & beverage.

The food is modern American gastropub and they have a wood-fired pizza oven. Divided into appetizers, pizzas, entrees, and sides, the menu will be seasonally driven and they look forward to utilizing as much local ingredients as possible – with Jersey offering “some of the best meats, cheeses, and grains available”. No final menu yet – they’re waiting until we get closer to see what’s available for the season.

Glick expects pizza to be a focus of the restaurant. Their dough is 100% natural yeast and slow fermented – yielding a lighter, more tender crust. They’ll be using an Acunto pizza oven from Naples – they also have a Josper coal burning oven for cooking meats.

There is a full liquor license and the bar that will feature draft beers, craft cocktails, and an “eclectic” wine list.

In addition to the restaurant/ bar, there will be a cafe attached. That will be in operation during breakfast and lunch and will feature house made pastries and La Colombe coffee.

They expect to be open in late October/early November.
