Stew Leonard’s Paramus to Open on September 18th

Stew Leonard’s will open it’s 80,00 square foot storefront at Paramus Park mall on Wednesday, September 18th.

The “Best Grocery Store in America” (Link) has been eyeing Bergen County since at least 2008, when they opened their Stew Leonard’s Wine store (it’s being merged with the new location) along Route 17. The wait has seemed like forever, but New Jersey is finally getting it’s first full-fledged Stew’s market — with scratch bakery, butcher shop, seafood department, hot food offerings, refrigerated meals to go, and much more.

Stores typically carry only 2,200 items — low for a supermarket — there’s also a big focus on dairy products, with choices like homemade mozzarella, ice cream, and butter. Along with their signature animatronic characters, the store will offer their signature one aisle that runs the entire space, taking customers from dept to dept. A kids version of the store map, showing the basic layout and location of “push button” shows, can be viewed at their site (View Map).

Once officially up and running, Stew Leonard’s will be open seven days a week beginning at 8:00am.
