Novino, a new Italian restaurant and pizzeria, has opened in Mahwah.

Chef/Owner George Jamieson (Blu Restaurant — Boston, City Catering — NYC, Bistro Caterers — NYC, Equinox cafes) and chef Frank Cucinella is serving a menu (View Menu) of wood-fired pizza, fresh pasta, salads, and Italian sepcialties. They are cooking many of the entrees in their wood oven.

According to the chefs, there has been a race to the bottom on ingredients — in pizza especially — and they will be using as much organic and local items as possible, plus “the best ingredients we can find”.

The 50 seat restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, open seven days a week on Monday-Saturday from 11:00am — 10:00pm and Sunday from 4:00pm—10:00pm
